Darrell Phillips, CLU®, REBC®, RHU®, AIF® / President
Darrell has over 30 years’ experience serving the employee benefits marketplace. He has an extensive background across all types and functions of employee benefit plans including consulting, underwriting, administration, product development, and employee communication/education. Darrell created DPI Benefits in 2004 as a full service, independent employee benefits consulting and brokerage agency. He holds his Series 7, Series 24, Series 63 and Series 66 Securities Licenses and his Life, Health and Variable insurance licenses. He has earned several professional designations including Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC®), Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), Registered Health Underwriter® (RHU®) and is recognized as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF)®.
Robin Norris, Vice President of Operations
Robin has been involved with employee benefits since 1992 and has been with DPI Benefits since 2005. In her role as VP of Operations, Robin oversees day-to-day operations and is instrumental in developing/training staff into a cohesive, productive team that understands and is willing to provide the DPI Experience at every level. In addition, Robin focuses on strategic planning and goal-setting in support of DPI’s mission to provide complete benefit solutions to our clients. She currently holds her Life and Health insurance licenses. In her previous position as manager of the CDC Lead Poisoning Prevention Program in the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s Bureau of Consumer Health, she earned the Certified Public Manger® (CPM) designation.
David Bucholtz, RFC, Senior Account Executive
David has specialized in the hospital employee benefits field since 1996. He holds his Series 6, 63, and 65 Securities licenses and his Life, Health and Variable insurance licenses. David is a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) though the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants. He specializes in the concept and design of customized retirement plans. However, his responsibilities include all facets of employee benefit plan design and management including employee education, communication and enrollment. He also stays abreast of various compliance issues and their potential impact on our clients’ benefit plans and works with plan sponsors to assure proper administration.
Jeff Schober, QPFC®, AIF®, CRC® Benefits Consultant
Jeff@DPIBenefits.com Jeff earned his master’s degree from Kansas State University in 2012 and joined DPI Benefits in 2015. Jeff is Involved in all aspects of employee benefits consulting including plan design, carrier negotiations, implementation, on-going plan administration, fiduciary compliance, investment analysis, claims monitoring, on-site employee education, and more! On a daily basis, Jeff strives to exceed expectations and deliver service that is the best of its kind. Jeff holds his Series 7, Series 66, and Series 24 securities licenses as well as his Life, Health, and Variable insurance licenses. Jeff has also earned several professional designations including Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC®), Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), and Qualified Plan Financial Consultant (QPFC®).
Amy Welfringer, SHRM-CP, CRC®, Director of HR & Technology Solutions
Amy@DPIBenefits.com Amy has worked as a Human Resources Professional since 2000 and joined DPI Benefits in 2015. She has an extensive background that includes payroll, benefits administration, legal/compliance (FMLA, OSHA, Worker’s Comp.), employee relations, risk management, creating and maintaining policies/procedures, and quality assurance. Amy works closely with our clients to provide HR support, facilitate paperless enrollments, help with online benefits administration, assist with ACA/COBRA and other regulatory compliance, as well as continuously come up with new ways to simplify our clients’ lives. Amy holds her Series 6, Series 63, and Series 65 securities licenses as well as her Life, Health, and Variable insurance licenses. Amy has also earned her Amy has also earned her SHRM-CP from the Society For Human Resource Management and Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC®) from The International Foundation for Retirement Education.
Eric Norris, Director of Medicare & Retiree Services
Eric worked in employee benefits for 10 years and returned to this arena in 2016 after spending several years in the ministry. He has a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern University, is an ordained minister, is a certified “life-coach” and has his Life, Health, & Variable insurance licenses as well as his Series 6 and Series 63 securities licenses. In caring for both his and Robin’s (DPI Benefits’ Vice President of Operations) aging parents, Eric has developed a passion for helping others navigate the challenges of making retirement “work”. As DPI Benefits’ Senior Markets Director, he provides insight in helping retirees managing their retirement savings and income as well as educating them and helping them secure affordable insurance policies including Medicare, Medicare supplements, life, dental, long-term care, and others. When he’s not advising retirees, Eric serves our clients by leading employee enrollment, education & pension meetings offering the DPI Experience everywhere he goes.
Miranda Weber, Client Service Manager
Miranda@dpibenefits.com Miranda has worked as a Human Resources Professional since 2016 and brings valuable benefits and human resources expertise including: benefits administration and enrollment, payroll processing, employee onboarding, employee relations and more. Miranda works closely alongside other DPI Benefits team members to assist in providing exemplary client service. Miranda has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Fort Hays State University and has completed 12 credit hours toward a Masters of Science in Industrial Organizational Psychology.
Jason Yoxall, RFC, Account Executive
Jason joined DPI Benefits in 2005. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Kansas State University and holds his Series 6, 63 and 65 Securities Licenses along with his Life, Health and Variable insurance licenses. Jason is a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) though the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants. His duties include working with hospital employees across all benefit plans to increase participant education, conduct employee enrollment meetings and provide employees with retirement and investment education. He also works closely with our clients’ Human Resource department to assure all the various benefit plans are functioning smoothly.
Courtney Huerter, Client Services Specialist
Courtney has been a DPI member since 2012 after graduating from Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and also earning her Kansas Life and Health Insurance License. Courtney’s main focus is managing and consulting on medical and dental plans by providing analytical and administrative support including sending out Request for Proposals, assisting in claim reviews, creating detailed data reports and historical analyses. She also assists participating members with billing and claim questions as well as assisting in client services on the other benefits DPI Benefits helps administer.
Laura Laughlin, Client Service Specialist
Laura@DPIBenefits.com Laura has been a member of the DPI Benefits team since 2008. Laura’s mission as the manager of DPI Benefits’ Client Service team is to be an advocate for both the employee and HR department providing exceptional personal service and problem resolution. Laura personally works every day to come alongside our clients and shoulder their burden to make their job easier. She oversees every aspect of client service including new implementations, transitions, enrollments, claims, and more. She ensures the process is efficient and most importantly worry-free for our clients. Laura earned her bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and currently holds her Life and Health insurance license.
Karen Hendrix, Client Services Specialist
Karen joined DPI Benefits in 2015 and has worked in the healthcare field since 2007. She currently holds her Life & Health Insurance Licenses. Karen specializes in making sure enrollments, changes, and claims are processed promptly by the insurance carriers as well as resolve any client service related issues that may arise. Each and every day she dedicates herself to provide exemplary service and be an example to all of the DPI Experience.
Carmen Phillips, Client Services Specialist
Carmen is Darrell’s wife and has been a member of the DPI Benefits team since 2004. She speaks fluent Spanish and works with Robin to oversee various administrative processes, employee communications and various client service functions.
